We believe everyone should have the opportunity to work.
This mission has guided CVE since our inception in 1986. CVE
serves San Franciscans living with psychiatric disabilities and other
underemployed populations, including the homeless, looking to reconnect
to the community through work. Using a unique combination
of support services and on-the-job-training in CVE’s own businesses, we
provide both on-and off-site paid training. Our business
enterprises include two coffee bars, a full service janitorial company,
a messenger service serving agencies connected to the Department of
Public Health, and a clerical training and placement unit.
Additionally CVE offers a variety of support services designed to meet
both employer and trainee needs, including work readiness classes,
benefits reduction and education seminars, interviewing skills, skill
enhancement groups, and job development and coaching services.
